Volunteers Are the Heart of Hospice
As part of the Beth Nehamah Hospice team, a volunteer
plays a key role in the support and comfort of patients and their
loved ones.
The continued offerings of a volunteer are not soon forgotten, as
they promote peace, dignity and quality of life for the dying.
Volunteers can share their time and talents in many ways. Patients
and volunteers are paired according to interests and desires. An
in-depth orientation program is provided to familiarize a volunteer
with the goals of hospice and to ensure a rewarding and successful
experience for both the patient and the volunteer.
The volunteer commitment is flexible and individualized, and is
designed around each volunteer’s availability and personal schedule. |
